Welcome to another week of “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition.” Last week, the girls had a challenge where they had to tape sequences for a video game, along with creating a special taunt, which would be used in the new Playstation game “Uncharted 3.” Laura ended up on top, and along with having her taunt be included in the game, she earned $10,000 scholarship money, which she will be able to withdraw if she is the winner of “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition.”
The photo shoot last week was a steam punk theme, where the girls also had to pose with a live owl named Groovy. Kristin was freaking out at having to work with a bird, but Laura really rocked it out, earning top call-out for the week, while Victoria and Yvonne ended up in the bottom two. Yvonne ended up being eliminated, and she will move on to the “Come Back” competition, competing with the formerly eliminated girls to get a spot back in the competition.
This week, as the girls arrive home, they are greeted by Laura’s top photo from last week. Laura interviews that sometimes she feels she lives in the shadow of her parents, as her dad was on “Dynasty” and her mom was a famous model. She feels she needs to prove that she can do this on her own, without her parents’ help.
Victoria is lamenting being in the bottom two, and I’m really getting tired of her whining. I wish they’d send her home, so she can be back with her mom where she seems to feel safe.
As the girl with the top photo from last week, Laura has access to the “Tyra Suite” for the week, and gets to pick someone to share it with. She decides that this is a competition, and she doesn’t want to share it with anyone.
Later, Kiara cooks everyone chili for dinner, and everyone partakes, except for Victoria, who is missing her mother so much that she can’t even taste food. She just sits at the table and watches the others eat. Kiara interviews that she is worried about Victoria, because she exercises a lot and she doesn’t eat.
The next day, the girls are greeted in the living room by BryanBoy, who has another lady with him. He says that one of the prizes the winner will receive is a spread in Nylon Magazine. The lady with him is Marissa Montgomery, who is a designer and host of Nylon TV. She tells the girls that they will be going on a road trip to Palm Springs. BryanBoy explains that the challenge will involve portraying “Random Acts of Modeling.” That is ordinary things done in a modelesque way.
The girls will go on their road trip in two RVs, and will make 3 stops, where they’ll take pictures of themselves doing “Random Acts of Modeling.” They’ll be in groups, and each person will have their own “act.” The winning person will win a segment on Nylon TV, plus a $10,000 cash prize, which goes into her scholarship fund. (Remember, only the winner of “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition” will be able to access the money they win in their scholarship fund.)
Teams are: Team 1 – Allyssa, Brittany, Kristin and Laura. Team 2 – Kiara, Nastasia and Victoria.
The two teams take off, stopping at various locations to take their photos and record their videos for Nylon TV. Right off the bat, you can tell that many of the girls are not really understanding the challenge to do “ordinary things” not pose in front of monuments, etc. Team 1 seems to be getting the idea a little better than Team 2, but we’ll see when they reach Palm Springs to see what happens.
The girls arrive at Palm Springs, and are greeted by BryanBoy with Nylon editor-in-chief, Marvin Scott Jarrett. Laura and Kiara were both the best for each of their respective teams, but there can only be one winning team, and that was Team 1, and Laura is the winner of the challenge. Victoria gets a low score, and is bummed out about it, saying, she doesn’t know what more she can do.
The girls are all hanging out in the hotel room, and thinking it would be so nice to take a shower and get cleaned up, when there’s a knock on the door, and it’s Johnny. When you see Johnny, you know it’s time for a photo shoot, and he doesn’t disappoint. He tells the girls that he’s sure that everyone is tired and stinky and wants to get cleaned up, but he’s going to use that to his advantage, as their photo shoot will involve them being in positions that are uncomfortable, or being caught off guard.
The girls go to hair and makeup and they are all looking like they’ve been partying all night, with runny makeup and messy hair, etc. Their photographer is Douglas Friedman.
Brittany rocks her shoot, with her scene of posing in a chair passed out, with half-eaten food all around her. Laura, on the other hand is having a problem with her shoot. Her scene is in a toilet stall, where she is supposed to be puking after a long night out. She has a problem not looking pretty, but hopes she got a good shot.
Victoria arrives to her shoot in the same bathroom scene that Laura just had, and she’s all upset, saying she lost her virginity, and she doesn’t know how it happened, and she could be pregnant, and what is she going to do? The girl sure does know how to make up some back story for her shot, but really? So, so weird!! Johnny even thinks it’s a bit much.
Kristin’s scene involves her guzzling milk, and the milk is running right out of the gallon container all over her. Very messy, but Johnny and Douglas love it.
Kiara’s scene was about dumpster diving to find a lost cell phone or purse. She reveals in an interview that she had done this before in her life, looking for clothes to wear, so she can relate. Her character is passed out in the dumpster. Johnny thinks she doesn’t look like a model, but a beautiful girl passed out in a dumpster.
Nastasia has to take a shower wearing a gorgeous, colorful sequined sheath. They have her kind of scrunch over, and look wiped out, and they love what she did.
Allyssa is in a polka-dot dress, and she has to lay on the floor and drink soda from the floor. They position her there and have her do a booty tooch, and Allyssa really takes it all the way, to the point that she actually licks the floor. After her shoot, it’s revealed that there was a roach on the floor. Ewwwwww!!!
The girls head back to the hotel, and they’re all exhausted. Victoria, once again, is freaking out, worried that she is going to be eliminated due to her bad score in the challenge. Then, she goes rather nuts looking around for her toothbrush.
The next day, the girls are taken back home, where they are greeted by the elimination Tyra mail.
“Tomorrow you will meet with the judges. Only 6 will continue on in the hope of becoming America’s Next Top Model.”
Soon after this, Victoria comes downstairs to use the phone to call her mom. Yes, you guessed it. Another freak out from Victoria on how much she misses her mom, and needs to see her. The other girls are in the living area and can overhear Victoria’s hysterics and they tell her that it’s time to get off the phone. Nastasia takes her aside and tells her that she thinks she needs to go home. She and the other girls gather around and they tell her they are worried about her not eating, and losing weight. Don’t know if this is going to help her by them telling her they are seeing these signs. We shall see.
It’s time for panel, and Tyra introduces the judges; Kelly Cutrone, Rob Evans and BryanBoy, and talks about the prizes, and then it’s on to judging. I’ll post the scores in sets of 3, in order, Kelly, Tyra and Rob, from left to right.
- Brittany – 8, 10, 9
- Kiara – 8, 7, 9
- Laura – 6, 7, 6
- Kristin – 8, 8, 8
- Nastasia – 9, 10, 9
- Allyssa – 4, 8, 5
- Victoria – 8, 8, 9
The scores from social media, along with the challenge scores, are added in to give the girls their final score this week. And, the call-outs are:
The bottom two are Laura and Allyssa. When the scores are all tallied, it’s Allyssa that is eliminated. She will join the other previously eliminated girls in the Come Back competition, in the hopes of being the one girl that will win a spot back in the competition.
Next episode, it’s go-see time. The girls pair up to go to their go-sees, and it seems there is some tension between Victoria and Kiara during one of the shoots, and between Victoria and Kristin during another time. Could this be Victoria’s last week? There will be a one week break, and “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition” will be back on Friday, Oct. 19, at 8:00 p.m..
