As we move towards Samhain, the Celtic New Year celebrated each October 31st, and the veils begin to thin, and we are offered opportunities to communicate with ancestors, spirit guides, ascended masters and angelic beings with increased frequency and clarity.
It is important to spend time in the silence to dive into all of the hidden aspects of ourselves that we ignore in more active parts of the year. Your Inner Guru awaits in the depths of your psyche to help disperse the darkness. It is your inner master teacher that you can access at any time you need guidance or direction.
The unconscious is potent and is uncontrollable. Our egos, the self that is conscious, thinks it can control the torrential power of the unconscious. It is hubris and foolish to sail a ship into uncharted waters without an experienced navigator.
Think of the mystic poet Dante on his pilgrimage through Inferno and Purgatorio: would he have made the successful journey to Paradiso without Virgil or Beatrice?
We are no different.
Spend fifteen to thirty minutes in communion with your inner guide each day.

Get prepared. You will go into deep relaxation mode. Have a glass of water ready and pen and paper, like your journal or notebook to write down your experience and any messages you received from your inner Guru.
Either lie down flat on your back or sit with your spine straight.
Focus your mind on the breath. Allow each pulse to quiet and cleanse your mind.
Now, follow this rhythm with your in breath and out breath in counts of four. Breathe in 1, 2, 3, 4, hold for a moment, breathe out 1, 2, 3, 4.
Now move a wave of white light through each of your toes, up your feet, and your legs, into your pelvic region, now washing over all of your internal organs as you move up the torso into your chest, neck and over your face. Move the white light over your head and down your back infusing each muscle fiber, dissolving tension. all the way down to your buttocks, quads, calves and feet.
Feel the white light pool at the soles of your feet. You feel completely relaxed, and at the same time rejuvenated.
Begin to pull the white light from the soles of your feet, upward through the interior of your body, up your spinal column to the crown of your head. See it glowing there. This is the spiritual center, where you are connected to the universal force known as the I AM. Begin to imagine this sphere of light turning to a bright color. Any color you wish to bring in. Gold for prosperity, silver or violet for intuitive awareness, blue for calm and effective communication/self-expression, red for vitality and energy, green for healing, yellow for creativity.
Allow this color to bathe your entire energy body. Feel enclosed and protected in its essence.
Now, say to yourself, silently or out loud, “I intend to commune with my Inner Guru, my Wise Counselor who lives within me NOW.”
Remain in a quiet state of LISTENING. You may see your Inner Guru with your imaginative or inner sight. Or you may just hear a voice, that sounds like your own.
When your Inner Guru comes through it will be crystal clear. You will know by their loving and encouraging words and demeanor.
Allow the messages to come through in any way that is offered. It may be words, a memory resurfaced, images, a song or film. You are welcome to dialogue with your inner guru, to agree, to question and to offer your own point of view which may be different.
Before you come back to your waking world, ask your inner guru if there’s anything else they’d like you to know?
Thank your inner guru for their love, guidance and wisdom. Know that you can come back to work with them anytime you need advice and next steps.
Begin to slowly come back to the room and take a few minutes to journal your experience and take down notes. Write down the messages from your guide — if you take the time to record your interactions, the unconscious can feel safe and supported. As it is soothed into comfortable interaction with your conscious egoic self, the unconscious will catalyze a new paradigm for you, full of new thoughts, ideas and beliefs.
Notice how your outer world changes to reflect the transformation of your inner world.
Writing all of this down in your journal or notebook dedicated to this inner work will speed up the process.
