The second episode of ABC’s “666 Park Avenue” is titled “Murmurations,” and begins with Gavin Doran taking a look around his apartment building, the Drake.
Jane finds out from doorman Tony that Mr. Barlow has moved out, and they need to send his things to Vegas.

Actually, we saw him apparently dragged through the wall and straight to Hell last week, but Jane doesn’t know that yet. She hears some scratching behind the wall and pries a piece of it open, and a flock of black birds comes swarming out. They break a window and fly out, while Gavin watches from his penthouse.
She goes down to the get the name of the exterminator from Tony, and Nona tells her not to do anything with the birds, they’re just a part of the Drake.
In the hospital, Brian visits Louise, and we find out she got a concussion and a collapsed lung from the elevator trying to murder her in the last episode. She can’t stay in the hospital long though, because she needs to get out and make money. Alexis comes to visit her and brings her things from the apartment.
Jane and Henry go to a dinner party thrown by the Dorans. Henry notices a new building model in Gavin’s office, and Gavin tells Henry about picking up the building for a song (a hundred million, actually) because of financial trouble the original builders are having.
Gavin talks to Danielle, another one of his tenants, who’s there alone. She tells him she has a date tomorrow, and Gavin offers to set them up at a restaurant he knows.
In bed that night, Jane realizes she left some clothes in the dryer and goes downstairs to get them. A bird leads her to the secret door in the basement, and she enters into someone’s apartment, apparently from the 1950’s. She sees a supposedly-dead body, which sits up at her. She wakes up to find her laundry basket already full of clothes, just like the last “dream” she had where she woke up with dirty feet.
Jane asks Tony about murders at the Drake, and he doesn’t remember any. Plenty of murders, but no suicides.
The exterminator checks the building, and tells Jane it’s a “murmuration” of starlings. Then they go downstairs to the basement, where Jane tells him to smash the wall and open the hidden door.
Danielle is waiting alone at the restaurant, when Gavin comes over and convinces her to have a drink with him and his friend, Mr. Halpern, who presumably is involved with the property Gavin is about to buy.
Nona tells the exterminator not to upset the birds, and steals his lucky rabbit’s foot. When she touches it, she sees images of him being swarmed by the birds.
Jane visits Louise in the hospital, and Louise tells her she’s considering suing Gavin for damage from the elevator. When Jane gets back to her apartment, someone has slid an envelope under her door containing an old newspaper with a story about a murder at the Drake. Henry tells her that Gavin’s new building purchase is next to a toxic site, but he can’t tell him because if he uses his inside information to tip him off, he’ll obviously be the leak.

The exterminator is walking home when he’s attacked by starlings, just as Nona saw. He panics and runs into traffic, where he’s hit by a taxi and killed.
Brian gets out of the shower and finds Alexis watching him in the bathroom. She says it’s fair since he’s been watching her. He tells her to leave, and she kisses him.
