Fox Valley Repertory is preparing a lyrical and comedic 2013 with its lineup of five plays to be staged in its home theater at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles.
The not-for-profit educational FVR has earned numerous awards and continually produces high-quality and affordable theater experiences for audiences of all ages in a location convenient for residents of DuPage, Kane and surrounding counties.
Taking the stage as the first show of FVR’s third year will be “The Art of Murder.” The award-winning comedic mystery by Joe DiPietro runs Jan. 24 – March 17.
DiPietro might also be known to theater-goers as the writer of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.”
Next up is the heavenly hit musical, “Forever Plaid,” running March 28 – May 15.
Written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross, this show has been a long-time favorite among admirers of ‘50s music. Among the hit songs to be showcased are “Three Coins in a Fountain,” “Magic Moments” and “Catch a Falling Star.”
“Why do Fools Fall in Love?” by Roger Bean hits the boards June 6 – July 28.
The rocking ‘60s musical comedy about the engaged Mille and her three girlfriends also features many familiar songs such as “My Boy Lollipop,” “I Will Follow Him” and “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me.”
A new Cole Porter revue, conceived by Karin Bowersock and Patrick Young, is set for Aug. 29 – Oct. 20.
“Let’s Misbehave” celebrates the life and times of the legendary Broadway composer with more than 30 selections from his early- to late-career.
“Anything Goes,” “Gay Divorce,” “Fifty Million Frenchmen” and “Can- Can” are among the hits that enliven this funny and romantic song-and-dance production.
Closing out the year will be “Making God Laugh,” Nov. 7 – Dec. 29.
This holiday comedy follows a couple of empty-nesters as they welcome their three grown children home for the holidays. As is true in many families, the holiday traditions continue, no matter what fate befalls loved ones.
All shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays and have some Thursday performances.
