It is always great when our “native sons” come back home to South Carolina, in this case a native daughter; whom I feel honored to know. Pam O’Rourke is a nurse, and skin therapist who knows that she was meant to take care of women, in people in general. Pam’s whole frame, the way she speaks and moves, oozes the ability and the need to care for others. Pam is the owner and skin therapist of Face Therapist Isle of Palms; she was born in Beaufort, grew up in Jasper County, and lived most of her adult life in Northern Virginia. The southern charm definitely comes through when you are around Pam, but she also seems very grounded; a great combination, especially in the caring and treatment profession.
Mrs. O’Rourke became a nurse because she had a need but also enjoyed taking care of women. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Management at National Louis University, her tenacity is demonstrated in the fact that she received her Bachelor’s degree while working full time and raising children as a single mother.
Pam was a very successful nurse, and in a good place in her life when she decided to pursue her true passion; she returned to school once again and enrolled in at Yvonne de Vilar Scientific Skincare School in Vienna, Virginia.
She became a licensed Aesthetician and worked in a holistic spa in Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. The spa’s treatments were based on organic products and total relaxation. She knew that the combinations of her medical background; especially her work with hospice patients where the goal and the need of the nurse is about comfort, that a holistic spa was the best fit for her. As you walk into Pam’s spa room you feel that relaxing, calming, holistic energy there.
Two years ago Mrs. O’Rourke was so happy to return to South Carolina where Mt. Pleasant is her home. She wanted to still pursue her passion of taking care of women therefore her business, FACE THERAPIST Isle of Palms, was born because she wanted to focus on improving women’s skin. Pam has combined her education and experience as a Licensed Aesthetician and nurse, also being trained in medical esthetics, to focus on bringing women’s skin to a new level. Her first question to her clients, “Is your face the “best” it can be?” Her face plan for her clients always begins with a thorough analysis of the face to see what the skin needs. Pam believes that each person needs their own customized plan to treat their problem areas. She stresses home care as an essential part of improving your skin. Face Therapist Isle of Palms use Image Skincare for all of the treatments given because of its therapeutic and healing properties of the ingredients. Image skincare also includes an organic line called Ormedic
Pam is also trained in Healing Touch; a method of energy therapy in which the practitioner consciously use their hands in a heart centered and intentional way. Pam states “by combining Healing Touch in all my treatments as a holistic de-stressing part of my skincare, she is providing inner tranquility as well as outer skin discovery, and de-stressing of the skin first starts with de-stressing of the soul”.
Pam O’Rourke’s goal is to help women feel good about their skin and confident about the person they are. If you want more than a facial, but a treatment for your inner and outer self; you must make appointment with Pam O’Rourke at Face Therapist Isle of Palms at 29 JC Long Blvd. suite 206 or call at 843-637-0088, or check out her website: www.FaceTherapistIsleofPalms.com.
