When ‘A Crowd of Demons,’ the fifth episode of “666 Park Avenue” aired Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 9:00 p.m., writer Brian Leonard and his wife Louise faced some serious issues including drug addiction and infidelity.
Brian (Robert Buckley) returned to his apartment to find his wife Lou (Mercedes Masšhn) half-dressed and having her stomach rubbed by a strange man. He is naturally concerned and she gets up, putting her blouse back on and smiling while she explains that this is Dr. Scott Evans (Enrique Murciano), another resident of The Drake. She ran into him in the elevator and mentioned how her ribs are still aching and he was examining her and massaging them. Not appeased, Brian coolly shows the doctor to the door.
Lou says he’s cute and that she wants to set him up with Alexis at the Halloween party tonight. Brian is not thrilled to learn Alexis will be attending.
Later that evening, Alexis arrives at the Leonard’s apartment in a sexy nurse’s costume. She apologizes to Brian for coming on so strong and for kissing him. She thought they had chemistry which he adamantly denies. She says she needs to keep her job and wants to put all of that behind them and be friends. He agrees but is still uncomfortable.
Alexis asks about the doctor and casually mentions that Lou has seen him several times. Brian is concerned as he took his wife’s earlier explanation to mean she had just met him that day. Alexis notices the anger in Brian’s demeanor.
At the party, Alexis is all over the handsome doctor. While entangled in a passionate embrace, she lifts the doctor’s cell phone from his pocket and hides it in her stockings. She then excuses herself.
While she’s gone, Lou, who has been wolfing down pain killers like candy and has run out, goes to talk to the doctor. She tells him her ribs are hurting worse than before and that she needs something stronger than aspirin. He offers to examine her again and they step into the elevator together – which Brian sees. So does Alexis. She uses the doctor’s phone to send a text to Alou that reads “Meet me upstairs. Want U now.”
In the elevator, the power goes out in the building and they are trapped. The doctor confronts Alexis about her drug usage and she admits to having been addicted to speed at one time. She went through rehab and since the accident in the elevator, she has fallen back into her old ways. She begs him not to tell Brian. They share a moment of connection and the doctor moves in. Louise rebuffs him saying she loves her husband. He apologizes and says he misread her signals.
Meanwhile, Brian is furious. Asks Alexis where they went. She said probably to the apartment, knowing Lou left her own cell phone there. Brian arrives at the apartment to find no Lou but her cell phone with the text, appearing to have been sent from the doctor.
When the power is restored and the elevator doors open, Brian punches the doctor in the face and walks away. Lou is baffled and calls after Brian but he tells her to leave him alone. Only Alexis has any clue what happened and she isn’t talking.
Will Lou kick her drug dependency? Will Brian find out Alexis planted the text? Will Lou? Or will this Fatal Attraction go too far? Tune in next week to find out.
