Last Wednesday the 2012 World Leadership Forum provided a platform where government officials and members of finance discussed the global economic outlook. Hosted by the Foreign Policy Association and coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly, the World Leadership Forum is one of the foremost public forums on global affairs. Over the years, heads of government and state, executives, investors and policy makers, have participated to discuss and exchange views on global trends and issues that shape business and foreign policy agendas.
Speakers included President of Indonesia, H.E. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono; Foreign Minister of Iraq, H.E. Hoshyar Zebari; and U.S. Business Editor and NY Bureau Chief, The Economist, Matthew Bishop. Discussions included the future of Europe and the euro, how the U.S. economy may handle quantitative easing, and the importance of confidence in restoring an economy.
