David Mayhew turned in a top 10 run in his first race for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Sereis, driving the #18 Dollar General Toyota Tundra to a ninth-place finish in the Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Mayhew started third in the race and ran in the top 10 through much the race. In spite of a pit road crunch with Ty Dillon following pit stops on Lap 102, which caused damage to the right front of Mayhew’s ride, Mayhew ran a strong race and became the seventh different driver to earn a top 10 finish in the #18 Tundra this season.
Nelson Piquet Jr. won the Smith’s 350, followed by Matt Crafton, Joey Coulter, Brendan Gaughan and Todd Bodine.
Next Saturday, October 6th, the Trucks take to Talladega Superspeedway, and KBM will have two Tundras looking to make the field. Kurt Busch will be in the #18 ride, while NASCAR Mexico champ German Quiroga returns to Truck Series competition in the #51 truck. Stay up-to-date with KBM at www.kylebuschmotorsports.com.
